Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling Book Review!!

Hey guy! It's Emma! Today, I have a book review on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling for you guys. This is actually the third time I have read this series and I thought I would do a review on each book in the series. This book follows Harry as he learns that he is a wizard and goes to study at Hogwarts. While he is there, he meets his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, begins his studies in Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Herbology, and discovers the wonderful sport of Quiditch. However, lurking in the shadows of the castle is the Sorcerer's Stone, a stone with the power to give someone eternal life, and none other than Voldemort, the man who killed Harry's parents and attempted to kill Harry, is after it. Will Harry be able to adjust to this new world of spells and magic? More importantly, will he be able to survive Voldemort and make it through his first year at Hogwarts safely?
First of all, let's talk about the characters in this book. I absolutely loved the characters. J.K. Rowling does a fantastic job of creating these characters' personality and background. Our main character is Harry Potter and before he came to Hogwarts, he lived with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and their son Dudley Dursley. Before Harry came to live with his aunt and uncle, he lived with his parents, but they were killed by Lord Voldemort when Harry was a baby. In this book, I found Harry to be a little annoying. In my opinion, he came off as bossy and arrogant. Most of the time, it didn't annoy me, but for some reason this time it did. Another main character in this book is Ron Weasley and he is from a big wizarding family. Ron amused me so much in this book because he was so sarcastic and funny. He meets Harry on the train and from that point forward they are the best of friends. The last main character we have in this book is Hermione Granger. Hermione is known as a muggleborn, which means both of her parents are muggles or humans. Hermione has always been my favorite since the first time I read this series and she still is. Hermione is a smart and know-it-all kind of girl. She kind of reminds me of myself because she is always reading or doing schoolwork and that is the most accurate description of me. She also, meets Harry and Ron on the train to Hogwarts, but didn't really become friends with Ron and Harry until later in the book.
Second off, the plot in this book was so much fun. J.K. Rowling creates a wonderful setting for this exciting adventure and that really helps move the story along. This setting was so descriptive it was like I was watching a movie while I was reading the book. The plot was amazing and action-packed. I never wanted to put the book down once I started. There wasn't a single part of this book where I was bored. I was zipping through this book waiting to see what would happen next.
Overall, this book was absolutely fantastic! I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars (obviously!) I can not say enough about this. It is such an amazing book about adventure and friendship. You can't help, but fall in love with the characters and the story. You won't want this book or this series to end. I highly recommend this book to everyone! You have to read it!
That is all I have for you guys today. I hope you enjoyed this review! Comment below your thoughts on the Harry Potter series and which book was your favorite. Keep a look out for my next review coming later this week. I will talk to you guys later! Bye!
