January TBR!!!

Hey guys! It's Emma! Today I am writing about my January TBR. Since it is the start of a new year, I am super motivated to read a lot. Plus, I haven't met my Goodreads goal for the past two years and this year I'm determined to meet it. I think reading 35 books in a year is doable so I don't know why I can't seem to get there. Anyways, in the remaining weeks of January, I plan to read 3 books.      The first book I plan to read is Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg. I don't know much about this book, but I want to go into it that way. This book is one I have to read for my American Literature class this semester so I'm sort of excited to read. I have heard good things about this from my friends that had the class last semester so I'm hoping I will like it.      The second book I plan to read is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. This is actually a reread for me, but Emma from @emmmabooks on YouTube is do...

Book Haul!!!!!

Hey guys! It's Emma! Today, I have a book haul for you guys. Most of these I got with my birthday money and I'm so excited to read them. Some of these I have anted for so long and when I was looking at what to order, I was like, "I want you! And you! And definitely you!" So let's go ahead and get started.      The first book I bought was The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. This book follows Violet, Klaus, and Sonny Baudelaire as they move in with the evil Count Olaf after their parents perished in a house fire. I bought this book because I started the series when I was 7 and I didn't finish the series. Because of that, I ordered some of the books in the series so I could start rereading them.      The second book I bought was The Wide Window by Lemony Snicket. This is the third book in the Series of Unfortunate Events. As I explained before, I wanted to reread the series so I bought the first and third books in the series. I find th...

Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen Book Review!

Image
Hey guy! It's Emma. Today, I have a book review on Saint Anything  by Sarah Dessen. This book follows Sydney as she switches schools after her brother is arrested for a drunk driving accident. After her brother's conviction, Sydney is lost, trying to find her place in her family and the world. As she is going through this time, Sydney meets the Chathams, a loud loving family that owns a pizza parlor. Upon meeting this family, Sydney is brought into their crazy antics and meets Mac, who seems to understand Sydney and make her feel like someone is finally seeing her for her instead of her brother.      First of all, I absolutely adored this book and it's characters. The main character, Sydney, was so well-developed and likable. However, in my opinion, the characters that truly made me love this book were the Chathams. This family was absolutely crazy and chaotic, but that's what I liked about them. Each character had their own little quirks like La...

September Wrap Up and October TBR

Hey guys! It's Emma! Today, I have my September Wrap Up and October TBR for you guys. This month has been a really good reading month for me. I read 6 books in September and usually I only read 2. For that alone, I'm pretty happy with my reading from last month. Let's get started.      The first book I read was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone  by J.K. Rowling. I read this book at the beginning of the month and it was so much fun. I love the Harry Potter series so I'm very excited to be rereading the series this fall. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars and I did a review on it earlier this month so check that out if you want to see more of my opinions.      The second book I read was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets  by J.K. Rowling. As I just said, I'm rereading the series so I finished the first book and went on to the next one. I really enjoyed this book. For some reason, Chamber of Secrets has always been my ...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Book Review!!

Image
Hey guys! It's Emma! Today I have a book review on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets  by J.K. Rowling. This book follows Harry as he starts his second year at Hogwarts with his best friends Hermione and Ron. However, at the start of the year, weird things start happening at Hogwarts. A new horror haunts Hogwarts and turns people to stone. Who could possibly be controlling this monster? Can the school recover from these attacks?      First, I absolutely loved these characters. One thing I liked about the characters in ths book is you can see how the have matured since the last book. In the last book, I found Harry to be a little immature at some points and that annoyed me. However, in this book, I can see how he has grown since the last book and I really liked seeing that. If you didn't read my review on the first book, Hermione was my favorite character of that book and that didn't change in this book. Her personality makes laugh every time...

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling Book Review!!

Image
Hey guy! It's Emma! Today, I have a book review on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone  by J.K. Rowling for you guys. This is actually the third time I have read this series and I thought I would do a review on each book in the series. This book follows Harry as he learns that he is a wizard and goes to study at Hogwarts. While he is there, he meets his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, begins his studies in Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Herbology, and discovers the wonderful sport of Quiditch. However, lurking in the shadows of the castle is the Sorcerer's Stone, a stone with the power to give someone eternal life, and none other than Voldemort, the man who killed Harry's parents and attempted to kill Harry, is after it. Will Harry be able to adjust to this new world of spells and magic? More importantly, will he be able to survive Voldemort and make it through his first year at Hogwarts safely?      First of all,...

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West Book Review!!

Image
Hey guys! It's Emma! Today, I have a book review on P.S. I Like You  by Kasie West for you guys. This book follows Lily as she starts exchanging letters anonymously in her chemistry class. What starts as continuing song lyrics on her desk turns into sharing secrets and opening up to each other. Can Lily piece together who this mystery person is or does she even want to find out?      First, I loved the two main characters in this book. I thought Lily was so sassy and relatable. Her family was absolutely hilarious and their dynamic is very similar to mine.  I think one of my favorite parts of this book was the relationship that Lily had with her friends and family. Lily and Isabelle, her best friend, had that relationship that made you automatically think, "That is totally me and my BFF." The main guy, Cade, was very adorable. At the beginnimg, I didn't like him that much, but that was kind of the point. However, as we got to know him, I l...
