Summer Wrap Up!!
Hey guys! It's Emma! Today, I have my Summer wrap up. Since I haven't posted a wrap up for June or July, I figured I would just combine them. In the months of June and July, I read 5 books. I didn't read as many books as I had planned because Netflix, but 5 is still a decent amount.
The first book I read was Wanderlost by Jen Malone. This book follows Aubree as she pretends to be her older sister and lead a senior citizen trip through Europe. I gave this book a 5 out of stars. I loved this story and it's characters so much. I have actually done a review on this book back in June so if you want my full feelings on this book check that out.
The second book I read was Weekend Warriors by Fern Michaels. This book follows a group of women who have been wronged by the justice system as they attempt to get their revenge. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I was buddy reading this book and the rest of the series with mom and it is so good. The women are hilarious and so blunt that I laughed out loud several times. I will say some parts of the beginning were a little slow for me, but once you get into it, the action never stops.
The third book I read was Before You Meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally. This book combines a story of a princess and teachings of the Bible to challenge girls to remain pure and let the Lord guide them. Since I work at a Christian book store, this book was mainly one I picked up to entertain myself during a slow shift. I gave this book a 3 out of 5 stars. I thought this book was okay, but I felt it was aimed for 10-13 year old girls.
The fourth book I read was Young & Beardless by John Luke Robertson. In this book, John Luke shares stories of how he figured out God's purpose for his life. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 stars. I originally picked this up because of the title, but after reading it, this book was so good and different. At the end of each chapter, he put a book that had inspired him in his life and that was something I haven't noticed in a book before.
The last book I read was Under A Summer Sky by Melody Carlson, This book follows Nicole, a high school art teacher, as she spends her summer in Savannah, Georgia managing a family friend's art gallery. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I loved the setting of this book and the main characters were adorable. The one problem I had with this book was I felt the ending was a bit rushed. It seemed like everything was going smoothly until the ending events were crammed together.
That's all I have for you guys today. Thank you so much for reading! Don't forget to follow this blog on Instagram. I will talk to you guys later. Have a great day! Bye!
